Vintage Pyrex Flameware Double Boiler Set – Complete with Lid

Vintage Pyrex Flameware Double Boiler Set – Complete with Lid
This beautiful and complete Pyrex Flameware double boiler set dates to the mid-20th century (circa 1930s–1950s), a period when Pyrex produced heat-resistant glass cookware designed for careful stovetop use.
The set includes:
two matching Flameware glass saucepans designed to nest as a double boiler
original flat glass lid
original stainless steel reinforcement bands
solid molded glass handles
Flameware was produced for delicate cooking tasks such as melting chocolate, custards, puddings, sauces, and gentle warming without scorching. Due to its fragility, complete sets in this condition are increasingly difficult to find.
Condition
Glass is pristine with no chips, cracks, or clouding
Bands are original, intact, and secure
Light, age-appropriate patina on the stainless steel bands (common and expected for Flameware)
Carefully cleaned with no disassembly or over-restoration
This piece has been preserved with respect for its age and originality.
Use & Care
Flameware was designed for stovetop use, traditionally on gas burners. If used today, gentle heat and care are recommended. Many collectors also choose to display Flameware as functional vintage kitchen décor.
A rare and elegant example of early Pyrex craftsmanship — ideal for a collector, careful cook, or vintage kitchen enthusiast.
